River Anthems - Paul Maybee
This is the cover of my 2006 release “River Anthems.” It includes 9 songs, 8 original and the last track being a cover of the Bob Dylan song “I Shall Be Released.” The cover is a wonderful painting done by my friend Candace Hare and continues to the inside of the insert. Also appearing on this album are Graeme Russell (drums) and my wonderful wife Mikey Colborne (vocals).

While the CD was being pressed, I gathered together some fantastic musicians, Jeff Kinsman on bass, and invited Graeme Russell down from Fredericton, NB for a guest appearance on drums for the CD’s release. I then discovered the local talent of Matt Johnson and The Critics was formed. We spent the year playing shows in Halifax and recording new songs such as the new release Fog and Rain, and upcoming songs Hourglass and Yesterday. The release of these songs will be accompanied by a live DVD of the CD relase party as well as new recordings of some older songs such as Takes One to Know One, Dragonfly and The Sunrise.
